RECOMMENDATION

It is the humble recommendation of the Membership Committee that Type A.2 Chairs priced at P880.00 be selected for the Speech Laboratory fro the following reasons:
1. It is molded ergononomically and is more comfortable.
2. It is more durable because its has a steel frame.
3. It is very modern in design and is a good symbol of SICs paradigm shift to meet the technological/financial challenges of these times.
4. It is economical in the contaxt that while is supeior to the ordinary monoblock chair, the difference in qiality exceeds the difference in price.
5. Being not a run of the mill ordinary chair that any Tom, Dick and Harry uses, it is a fitting yet simple Gift of the Alumni to SIC during SICAAs Diamond Anniversary.
6. That pledges from individual, Classes, or Batches for one or more chairs would spread out the goodwill of this project.
7. That if only to make sustainable the spirit of SICAA in giving continuing support to the Alma Matter, each chair be marked in a tasteful and discrete manner through sicaa_comm graphics the Year of the Class or Batch from whom the Chair Gift came from.

B. AIR-CON

It is recommended that the existing Cash Donation on Hand of P18,600.00 be used to purchase one unit of Brand New Carrier 1.5 HP with a canvassed price of P18,505.15.

However, if the current inquiry I am still making will make it possible to purchase two second hand units (recommended) it will be refferred to the Executive Board for a Final Decision.

A copy of this message is posted to Pres. Gil B. Vibar of SICAA in America for information. Of course, the members of SICAA Greayer Toronto Area are likewise informed.

On the basis of the above prices of Brand New Air-con units, I am currently inquiring about prices of Used Units that are of good condition for long term use. The results of this inquiry will be posted separately. The need for the use of air-conditioning for the speech laboratory is equally necessary, to seal the noise out, to protect the computerized equipment and to maintain the temperature of comfort required in a facility such as this the users having headphones communicating jointly and separately with the Speech Instructor to identify and then point out in an interactive and systematic way the improvement of the student/pupils manner of speech. But SICAA will not stop with physical facility support. SICAA Research will continue to gather information about ways for the use of the Speech Laboratory to be maximized including its possible use as a Call Center Training Facility and a seasonal venue for Public Speaking Seminars sponsored by the SICAA. The Concept of the SICAA sponsoring Workshops and Seminars for Continuing Professional Education targeted towards updating of skills for livelihood uplift of the Alumni in partnership with San Ildefonso College is a fertile project for the near future. This may extend to Distance Learning once the basics are successfully laid out. This will make SICAANns all over the World play the role of Benefactor or Beneficiary as the case may be. This will put San Ildefonso College in a position equal to its pioneering role in the Pre-Technological Era as a Trail Blazer in this High Technology Millennium. What Father Bahl did that led to SIC's birth, is now in the hands of Monsignor Peter to elevate into a cutting edge Diamond Renewal. But while Father Bahl had only one "Tommy", Msgr. Peter has now several thousand "Tommy's" in the Ildefonsian Crusaders all over the World. The vision of San Ildefonso continues through this God's gift called technology. Have no doubts. It is the wish of the Graduating of Batch 2009 as communicated by Sister Aileen, that they be able to still have a "buena mano use" of the Speech Laboratory before their Graduation. Kaya guys, please post your pledges as soon as you can. The suggestions and comments of Ellen, Babbie, Ting, Benjie, Berting Laarni and all are being complied with by the SICAA Officers. Medyo naging busy lang ako the last few days dahil among others the MMDA Project of the Layag Islas Team may be proceeding soon, God willing, as I am handling the Techncial/Professional Management of the Team.We will post the Bank Account of the SICAA under the SICAA Constitutional Guidlelines anytime soonest.
